Your role in the team

We are currently seeking an Accounting Analyst for a 12 month Fixed Term Contract to join the Allstate Dealer Services (ADS) Northern Ireland team.  The ADS team supports the vehicle service contract segment and offers a unique opportunity to see the business from start to finish.  Team members will learn about our products, sales channels, and claim handling; see how customer transactions flow into the accounting records and financial statements; and get exposure to the service contract and P&C insurance industries.

The role will participate in the monthly close, preparing account reconciliations and coordinating with internal and external providers.   The analyst will have daily interaction with the business unit and suppliers to assure transactions are completed and appropriately recorded. Key responsibilities 
  • Participating in process improvement projects  

  • Implementing, reporting, and communicating the impact of business and accounting related initiatives on assigned processes and financial statements 

  • Preparing quarterly/annual statutory and/or GAAP financial statements and schedules/exhibits. 

  • Preparing analytical schedules, analyzing variances, and providing analytical support based on internal customer requests Working collaboratively within the team and across the department  

  • Monthly close and related processing and analysis (e.g. account analysis, preparation of journal entries)  

  • Preparing and analyzing account reconciliations  

Essential Skills 
  • All applicants must demonstrate they have a legal right to work in the UK for employment at Allstate. Allstate is not providing sponsorship for this vacancy. 

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Finance or Accountancy role. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills including use of formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs. 

  • Previous experience managing multiple priorities and adhering to tight deadlines 

  • Experience using finance/accounting-specific reporting tools such as SAP or Sage50 

Desirable Skills 
  • Experience with SAP S4 

  • Previous experience going through an implementation of system upgrades  

  • Working knowledge of Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
