About the Role?
The role involves overseeing and delivering a wide range of tree maintenance operations, ensuring Arboricultural standards are consistently upheld across all sites, regardless of weather conditions. The postholder will manage daily operations and team performance, supporting charge hands and demonstrating strong leadership aligned with company values to foster a positive team culture. Responsibilities include compliance with statutory Health and Safety regulations, company policies, and safe working procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment. The role also requires adherence to Joint Venture contract specifications, commitment to environmental and quality initiatives, effective resource planning, and task prioritisation. Monitoring performance quality, driving service innovation, and supporting team development through appraisals and job chats are key aspects of this position.
The ideal candidate will hold a Full Driving Licence (Category B+E), with LGV C1+E and Driver CPC qualifications considered desirable. They must possess strong Arboricultural knowledge, including a Level 4 qualification in Arboriculture, and demonstrate expertise in tree works aligned with BS3998 standards and current industry guidelines. A solid understanding of Health and Safety legislation is essential, supported by IOSH Managing Safely training. Candidates should be familiar with the Wildlife and Countryside Act, including specific knowledge of bats in Arboriculture, tree and fungi identification, and common pests and diseases affecting trees. Experience in the Arboricultural field is essential, along with proficiency in operating commercial equipment, vehicles, and mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs). The role also requires supervisory experience leading Arboricultural teams, liaising with management and clients, and working in compliance with LOLER and PUWER regulations. Assessment will be based on application form, interview, and practical test.

This role is for 37 hours per week, but to ensure flexibility and promote an inclusive workplace part time hours or a job share agreement will be considered.
