Job Description
Purpose of the role
To manage change projects that help the organisation achieve its strategic objectives, while ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, in control and in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures.

Accountabilities

  • Management of change projects within the organisation, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Development and management of project plans that outline the scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements for change projects.
  • Communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to ensure that they are informed about project progress and that their needs and expectations are being met.
  • Management of project teams, ensuring that they are properly resourced and that they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver on project objectives.
  • Management of project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within the agreed budget.
  • Creation of reports on project progress to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Management of project risks, ensuring that risk, assumptions, issues and dependencies are identified, assessed, and mitigated as necessary.
  • Facilitation of change management activities, including training and communication, to ensure that change projects are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.

As a Workstream Senior Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of key projects within a defined workstream, ensuring initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with governance standards. You will provide hands-on oversight across all phases of the project lifecycle, from planning and scheduling through to execution, testing, and readiness for deployment. Your role will involve coordinating activities across multiple teams, monitoring progress, and ensuring that dependencies are managed effectively. As technology change is a key element of the programme, you will work closely with technical teams to understand and support technology-related changes, ensuring that solutions are implemented successfully and meet business requirements.

You will act as the central point of coordination for your workstream, collaborating with project stakeholders and operational teams to ensure seamless delivery. You will have oversight of the activities of the teams within your workstream, working closely with their people leader to deliver the required results guidance to maintain alignment and accountability. Your responsibilities will include managing timelines, tracking deliverables, and supporting implementation planning to ensure sustainable outcomes. This position is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, previous experience in people management, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Knowledge of technology change and experience in project oversight will be critical to success in this role.

To be successful as a Workstream Senior Project Manager 12 Months Full Time Contract, you should have experience with:

  • Proven project management expertise, with experience delivering complex initiatives on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Strong scheduling and planning skills, with the ability to oversee multiple squads and manage interdependencies effectively.
  • Experience in technology-related projects, with a solid understanding of technical change and its impact on business operations.
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate across diverse teams, ensuring alignment and accountability across workstreams.
  • Previous experience in people oversight or operational team management, demonstrating leadership through influence and guidance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and maintain clear communication throughout the project lifecycle.
