Job Summary
The Residential Team Leader plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations of a residential care setting, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children. This position requires strong leadership skills, effective communication, and a passion for supporting the development and wellbeing of young individuals. The Team Leader will be responsible for implementing care plans, supervising staff, and fostering positive relationships with children and their families.
Duties
- Lead and manage a team of residential staff to ensure high-quality care for children.
- Develop, implement, and review individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive environment that promotes the emotional and social development of children.
- Ensure effective communication with children, families, and external stakeholders regarding care plans and progress.
- Conduct regular team meetings to discuss challenges, share best practices, and provide training opportunities.
- Monitor the wellbeing of children in residence, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to care plans, incidents, and daily activities.
- Collaborate with other professionals such as social workers, educators, and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards within the residential setting.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is essential.
- A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation as required.
- Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Strong communication skills are vital for effectively engaging with children, families, and team members.
- Proficiency in IT is necessary for maintaining records and documentation efficiently.
