Job Description
SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor is responsible for production of finished goods at standard cost within established quality standards and safety guidelines. The Supervisor controls and regulates the quality and flow of work in the plant and carries out production schedules. The Supervisor is responsible for tracking and addressing shortfalls, personnel, equipment and materials. The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring compliance with all HR policies and practices on the shop floor and maintaining a positive work environment, reviewing the progress of production personnel via personal observation and analysis of reports on departmental production, quality and shipments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee all production for his/her assigned shift. Directly supervises all production assemblers, leads, and technicians. Ensures compliance with and the consistent application of all HR policies and practices Manages proper utilization of manpower to ensure compliance with established standards and works to continuously improve standard costs Coordinate various production operations to ensure proper workflow through the plant Identifies opportunities for scrap reduction and assists the Operations Manager in prioritizing continuous improvement efforts Controls the manufacturing process according to approved methods and quality standards; assures that units are within standard costs. Works with Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure the smooth transition of new products Develops and trains his subordinates to continuously improve their performance and skills Conducts frequent (at least weekly) informational meetings with the production staff to discuss continuous improvement, production schedules, safety and quality. Set production goals for individual operations and products to continuously improve standard cost. Responsible for safe operations on his/her shift. Identifies and removes unsafe methods, procedures, or conditions. Maintain discipline in the manufacturing operations while promoting a positive and supportive work environment.

Education And Experience
The position requires an Associate's Degree and a minimum of 5 years of direct supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Two to four years' experience in production planning is preferred. Familiarity with ERP systems is an asset for the position.

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standards of operation, work instructions and blueprints, and other manufacturing documents of similar complexity. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from other departments and those employees who report to him/her.
