Role Description
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for supporting the General Manager in the daily operations the branch. They help to ensure the branch runs smoothly, efficiently, and meets its financial and customer service goals. They also assist in managing branch staff.
Duties Include but not limited to.
Safety
- Lead from the front in terms of both compliance and setting safety and environmental standards.
- Manage in line with the company's safety systems and procedures and ensure we are safe and compliant.
- To lead from the front in the continuous improvement in safety processes and procedures.
- Develop staff knowledge on safety through training, engagement, and regular communications.
- Live and breathe our Golden Safety principles.
Sales and Customer service
- Achieve branch Sales and Gross Profit targets.
- Ensure we try to answer every call within 3 rings, and where we do miss a call, every customer is to be called back.
- Maintain impeccable store standards, including staff welfare facilities, trade counter and showroom areas.
- Drive an increase in sales tickets raised, average lines and average value per ticket.
- Execute a branch sales and marketing plan, this will contain a mix of local branch activity and supporting company level initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with representatives of local suppliers for support in local trade mornings, building staff knowledge etc.
People
- Set and support a culture that attracts, onboards, develops, and retains great people.
- Celebrate strong performance, develop talent, and manage underperformance within the branch.
Communication
- Build strong relationships with peers in different departments including HR, fleet, commercial, finance etc.
- Support the Branch Manager in delivering a branch communication plan that keeps all colleagues up to date on how they are performing and keeping the team abreast of the latest information and developments across stock, customers, safety, and sales opportunities etc.
- Communicate in line with the company strategy.
- Daily/ weekly/ monthly review of sales and Gross Profit to ensure we are maximizing our chance to take market share.
Profit
- Achieve EBITDA and margin targets through management of the branch P&L
- Stock management – ensure processes related to stock management are followed and investigated accordingly.
Salary: Depending on experience
Working Calender: Monday - Friday and alternare Saturdays.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £32,000.00 per year
