LOCATION: Birmingham – Hybrid

PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £34,900 - £42,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Join the BBC's TV Social Edit Hub to help us shape content that connects with young audiences across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. As a Post Production Editor, you'll play a key role in crafting innovative social edits that support BBC iPlayer titles, helping drive engagement and reach among new young viewers.

Your Key Responsibilities And Impact

  • Edit clips, cutdowns, and bespoke social-first content using Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Format and optimise content for TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook
  • Collaborate on original content ideas and experiment with new editing styles
  • Work across genres including Entertainment, Reality, and Documentaries
  • Ensure content meets BBC editorial and compliance standards
  • Engage with producers and stakeholders to deliver high-quality social content
  • Stay up to date with trends and best practices in social video editing
  • Be a team player who nurtures more junior staff

Essential Criteria
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Significant experience of Adobe Premiere editing software including proven experience of editing published content using Premiere Pro
  • Strong editorial judgement and storytelling instincts tailored for social formats
  • Deep knowledge of social platforms and proven experience of creating content for social – esp TikTok, YouTube, Instagram
  • Passion and experience of editing content focused on young audiences
  • Awareness of editorial and compliance standards, ideally within digital or social media

Desired But Not Required

  • Good knowledge of After Effects and Photoshop
