Job Title: Cargo Operations Operator

Location: Warton

Salary: £37,000 depending on skills and experience

What you'll be doing: 

  • Production of Load Information Reports in accordance with weight and balance of the Aircraft
  • Utilize Warehousing Software package to maintain stock levels, create manifests etc
  • Liaise with customers and advise on acceptable volumes and any cargo issues associated with heavy loads or oversized items
  • Effectively process the inbound/outbound procedure of all company cargo. Using the software packages, verify all company cargo is received and correct
  • Operate specialist cargo loading equipment when required
  • Load preparation (ULD building) to ensure efficient loading, unloading, and processing of customer shipments in line with IATA Unit Load Device regulations, IATA Airport Handling Manual and IATA Ground Operations Manual. Including all associated documentation
  • Carry out the Dangerous Goods Acceptance process along with the completion of all relevant paperwork in accordance with IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations
  • Preparation of the Notification to Captain (NOTOC) detailing all Dangerous Goods being carried aboard any company or chartered aircraft
  • Assist and take part in audits from external regulators such as UK Border Force, HMRC, UK Civil Aviation Authority etc

Your skills and experiences:

  • Previous experience in Warehousing/Logistical environment is essential
  • Experience in Air Freight Unit Load Device (ULD) Operations desirable
  • CAA qualified to IATA category 6 in Dangerous Goods by Air acceptance desirable.
  • Qualified under the Department for Transport (DfT) UK National Aviation Security Program to a minimum of Air Cargo (Regulated Agent) Operative desirable
  • Previous experience in a Freight Forwarding/Ramp Handling role is essential.
  • Confident in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Forklift License desirable but not essential
