JOB DESCRIPTION
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Class 1 Wagon and drag/Draw Bar driver for a contract based in Brackmills, Northampton, operating Class 1 swap body vehicles. This challenging and interesting role will appeal to an individual with the drive, agility, and energy to deliver operational excellence and customer satisfaction. This role will appeal to an individual who loves working in a friendly fast-paced team. This team is part of our Trunking Home Delivery Network, we store and deliver Kitchens and Bathrooms on behalf of Wickes contract. Shift pattern: Monday to Friday
Salary: £43 840,57 per annum
The Role

  • Responsible for the accurate, timely movement and delivery of our customers' products
  • Adhering to safe working practices to ensure the safety of yourself and others at all times
  • Securing load of the trailer to ensure products are safely secured to minimise chances of damage
  • Ensure the trailer for the following days work is safely deposited on the correct site and all paperwork left for the crews delivering
  • Understand the flexible nature of the role in regards to distance variations, one day Watton, the following day Exeter.
  • Conduct through pre and post vehicle checks, raising any defects to the attention of Transport Office
  • Participate in any training to carry out the Driver role safely and within expectations

The Person

  • A valid in date Class 1 licence
  • To hold a Digital tachograph card
  • Wagon & Drag draw bar experience preferable but not essential
  • To have no more than 6 points on your licence
  • To be a good timekeeper and able to work unsupervised
  • Enthusiasm and reliability
  • Good communication skills and a flexible can-do attitude to work
  • Great geographical knowledge
