superyachts, tenders, motorboats & vessels up to 24 metres

With modern workshops, precision engineering facilities & a highly skilled team, this client undertake a wide range of projects — from complete refits & complex repairs to high-performance upgrades.

Role Overview

This client are seeking an experienced & driven
Production Manager
with a strong technical shipyard background to oversee the planning, coordination & delivery of multiple refit, repair projects. The ideal candidate will combine technical proficiency with exceptional leadership, project management & client-facing skills.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget & to the highest standards of quality expected by our clients and brand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage & motivate multi-disciplinary teams across mechanical, electrical, joinery, painting & engineering disciplines.
  • Oversee day-to-day production activities across multiple vessels, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently & to specification.
  • Interpret & work from
    technical drawings, specifications, & engineering documents
    .
  • Plan & monitor production schedules using
    GANTT charts
    or similar project management tools, adjusting priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Liaise with
    high-profile clients, captains & project managers
    , providing clear communication and progress updates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with the estimating team to develop
    costings, quotations & project budgets
    , ensuring accuracy & profitability.
  • Manage material procurement, subcontractor coordination & workflow planning.
  • Conduct quality control inspections & final handovers with clients.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains & innovation within the production environment.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven background (minimum 5+ years) in a
    shipyard or marine production management role
    within the
    superyacht, custom yacht, or high-end boatbuilding sector
    .
  • Strong technical understanding of
    refit and new build processes
    , materials & marine systems.
  • Ability to
    read and interpret technical drawings
    & schematics.
  • Demonstrable experience in
    managing teams
    , subcontractors & multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent client-facing & communication skills; confident liaising with
    high-net-worth individuals
    & professional yacht crews.
  • Proficiency in
    project planning software
    & GANTT chart formulation.
  • Sound commercial understanding of
    estimating, pricing & project cost control
    .
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, leadership qualities & attention to detail.
  • Relevant qualifications in
    marine engineering, naval architecture, or production management
    preferred.
