Hours/Location:
Full Time, Monday to Friday, 7am to 5pm - In Office

Purpose:
The Transport Coordinator supports the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of transport activities for Robinson Contract Services. The role focuses on managing driver performance, ensuring full adherence to working time and tachograph legislation, and optimising daily and weekly planning. Working closely with the team, this role ensures consistent standards, timely reporting, and operational excellence.

Core Responsibilities:

Performance & Compliance Management

  • Oversee day-to-day driver performance including load checks, tachograph vs timesheet reconciliation, and KPI tracking.
  • Manage infringement processes; from delivery to sign off to reporting and trend analysis.
  • Support continuous improvement of driver performance, providing feedback and coaching where required.
  • Ensure full compliance with transport regulations, internal procedures, and client requirements.

Planning & Scheduling

  • Plan and schedule daily and weekly work for North-West and Liming contracts, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Build and prepare job instructions for execution.
  • Monitor live job progress, identify issues, and adjust plans to maintain delivery efficiency.
  • Liaise with drivers, the team and clients to coordinate activities and resolve any conflicts.

Reporting & Administration

  • Produce daily and weekly performance and compliance reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of infringements and performance data.
  • Support analysis of operational performance trends and identify improvement opportunities.

Operational Support

  • Provide cover for on-call duties (5pm to 7am) during holidays or sickness.
  • Support communication between all departments of the business.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Proven experience in transport or logistics administration.
  • Strong knowledge of driver hours, working time and tachograph legislation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
  • Proactive problem solver with strong organisational skills.
  • Confident communicator.
  • Competent in Microsoft 365.

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in planning or scheduling transport operations (not freight forwarding).
  • Familiarity with agricultural logistics.
  • Data analysis or reporting experience.
  • Knowledge of compliance or performance monitoring tools.
