Extrusion Operator

HTI Toys is a leading manufacturer of high-quality plastic pipes for children's Hula Hoops. We operate modern extrusion lines equipped with fully automated downstream handling, robotics, and inline quality control systems.

Job Summary.

We are seeking an experienced and safety-conscious Pipe Extrusion Operator to operate and monitor state-of-the-art plastic pipe extrusion lines. The successful candidate will ensure consistent production of high-quality pipes while maximizing uptime, minimizing waste, and maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor co-ex extruders, dies, vacuum tanks, haul-offs, cutters, and automated downstream equipment.

• Operate and troubleshoot automated handling automation (robotic arms, conveyor systems.

• Conduct in-process quality checks (wall thickness, diameter, and colour.

• Adjust process parameters (temperature, screw speed, haul-off speed, vacuum/pressure, cooling) to maintain product within specification.

• Keep the extrusion line and automation area clean and organized.

• Assist in continuous improvement initiatives (waste reduction, OEE improvement, automation optimization).

Required Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification in plastics processing/extrusion is a strong advantage.

• Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience operating plastic pipe extrusion lines (PP).

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills on both extrusion and robotic/automated equipment.

• Basic knowledge of plastics materials, additives, and extrusion theory.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and work 8-hour shifts Mon-Fri 07:00-15:00 or 15:00-23:00 depending on business needs.

• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise, and temperature variations.
