Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Passenger Assistant to support children and individuals with special needs during their journeys. This role involves assisting passengers with disabilities, including those with autism, and ensuring their safety and comfort throughout travel. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, patience, and experience working with children or individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities
- Assist passengers with disabilities, including those with autism, ensuring their safety and well-being during travel
- Support children with special educational needs or those requiring additional care, such as toddlers
- Help passengers board and disembark safely, providing physical assistance if necessary
- Communicate effectively with passengers, parents, carers, and team members to coordinate safe journeys
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanour at all times, fostering a welcoming environment
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure passenger safety throughout the journey
- Support behavioural management strategies as required, demonstrating patience and understanding
Requirements
- APPLICANT MUST HAVE OR BE WILLING AT ATTAIN A "ENHANCED DBS"
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
- Knowledge of working with people with autism or in special education settings is advantageous
- Prior experience in teaching or caring for toddlers is preferred
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with passengers, families, and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a strong commitment to passenger safety and comfort
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a team in a dynamic environment
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations related to passenger assistance
This role provides an enriching opportunity for individuals passionate about supporting vulnerable populations while developing valuable skills within the transport or care sectors.
