Job Role
We are seeking to appoint a kind, engaging, and motivated Care Home Trainer to join our team. You'll need a good knowledge of social care as well as excellent presentation skills and the ability to motivate others. This role is crucial in ensuring that caregivers are well equipped to provide compassionate and effective care to clients in their homes. By focusing on continuous education and support, trainers help improve the overall quality of home care services.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all staff have the right skills and knowledge for their roles
- Design and deliver training yourself or commission training from external suppliers aligned with CQC standards, legislation and good practice.
- Evaluate how effective training has been
- Keeping training records for staff
Support staff who are completing qualifications and assessing their work.
Set and monitor training targets that link on and off the job training
- Monitoring and managing mandatory training
- Supporting new staff to complete the Care Certificate
- Delivering face to face training sessions such as basic life support, moving and handling and medication skills training
- Organise and maintain documentation to demonstrate the progress learners are making
- Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner's needs
- Advise and guide learners to make informed choices in relation to their future development, including further qualifications and career progression
- To attend team meetings
Skills and Experience required
- Have minimum 2 years relevant occupational experience in Adult Care / Health Care Worker Hold a teaching qualification (PGCE, or equivalent)
- In date train the trainer (Moving and Handing, Medicines Management)
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of CQC standards within area of social care settings.
- Experience of coordinating training for groups/individuals with different learning styles
- Experience in delivering learning/training solutions within the Health & Social Care sector
- Excellent organisational, communication, written, oral and numeracy skills
