Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our culinary team at the Afan mountain lodge . The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in food production and preparation, demonstrating exceptional cooking skills and a strong understanding of food safety standards. As a Chef, you will be responsible for creating delicious dishes, managing kitchen operations, and leading a team to ensure an outstanding dining experience for our guests.

Duties

• Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus.
• Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to enhance their culinary skills.
• Manage food inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen environment.
• Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, food safety practices, and restaurant policies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Chef in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Strong culinary skills with a deep understanding of various cooking methods and cuisines.
• Supervising experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.

Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour
