Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Forklift Truck Mechanical Engineer based in the Northwest, United Kingdom. The role involves the maintenance, repair, and servicing of forklift trucks and related machinery to ensure optimal functionality. Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing mechanical and technical issues, performing routine inspections, and keeping up-to-date with safety standards. Collaboration with other engineers and technicians to meet operational goals and maintain equipment reliability is key to this role.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical repair and troubleshooting expertise, including diagnostics and fixing mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic systems, engine maintenance, and electrical components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or within a team.
  • Understanding of workplace safety standards and compliance, especially in a material-handling context.
  • Qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field are advantageous.
  • Previous experience in forklift equipment maintenance or related machinery is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and team coordination.
