Malpas Church in Wales Primary School is seeking an inspiring, committed and forward-thinking Deputy Headteacher to join our leadership team. We are a happy, inclusive primary school educating children aged 3–11.

About the Role

The Governing Body is looking for a Deputy Headteacher who will:

• Be an excellent practitioner, role model and a positive, motivating leader

• Bring energy, resilience and initiative to the role

• Be passionate about making a difference and narrowing the deprivation gap

• Inspire, challenge and empower both children and colleagues

• Work creatively to secure high standards of teaching and learning

• Collaborate closely with the Headteacher to strengthen leadership and management

• Demonstrate strong organisational and leadership skills

• Be a committed team player who enjoys contributing to the wider life of the school

• Be committed to promoting the distinctive Christian character and ethos of the school.

Recruitment Process

The appointment process will include:

• A lesson observation

• Two formal interview days (successful candidates from day 1 invited to day 2)

Key Dates

• Closing Date for Applications: Thursday 22nd January 2026 at 12pm

• Shortlisting: Monday 26th January 2026

• Lesson Observations: 28th January - 6th February

• Interviews: Monday 9th and Tuesday 10th February 2026

Shortlisted candidates will also be invited to visit the school prior to interview.

The successful candidate is expected to commence employment from 1st September 2026 (subject to safeguarding and recruitment checks), or as soon as possible thereafter.
