Job Overview

The Paramedic Practitioner will work as part of the multidisciplinary primary care team to provide high-quality, patient-centred clinical care. This includes the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients (both adult and children) presenting with acute, urgent, and minor illnesses, as well as the ongoing management of chronic conditions where appropriate.

As an independent prescriber, the Paramedic Practitioner will utilise advanced clinical skills and professional judgment to provide safe, evidence-based treatment, support same-day access, and help reduce GP workload within the practice Ideally 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties

  • · Provide autonomous, evidence-based assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients presenting with acute and minor illnesses, injuries, and urgent clinical needs.

  • · Undertake telephone and face-to-face consultations, including home visits where appropriate.

  • · Prescribe safely and effectively in accordance with current NMC/HCPC standards and practice policies.

  • · Manage patients with a wide range of undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions, using clinical reasoning and decision-making skills.

  • · Request, interpret, and act upon diagnostic tests such as blood investigations, ECGs, and imaging.

  • · Support chronic disease management and contribute to the Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and Enhanced Services where applicable.

  • · Escalate or refer patients to GPs or secondary care services when clinically appropriate.

  • · Maintain accurate, contemporaneous, and comprehensive clinical records using the practice clinical system (Emis).

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
