Overview
As a PMO Analyst, the successful candidate will support the Head of the Integrated Programme Management Office (iPMO) in creating a disciplined and controlled project management environment. The primary responsibility will be ensuring effective project management controls to support the successful delivery of the Major Projects Directorate Portfolio.
This role is essential in introducing effective controls, including Benefits Management, within the newly formed PMO. The PMO Analyst will help ensure accurate tracking and reporting to keep decision-makers informed of key risks and issues and support planning and mitigation strategies for smooth delivery.
The Role
As a PMO Analyst, the responsibilities include:
- Benefits Realisation
: Working with project teams to identify, manage, and report key benefits, providing assurance to senior leadership. - Programme Methodology
: Ensuring project controls act as the custodian of programme methodology and standards, guiding the delivery of key project deliverables. - Quality Control
: Establishing and maintaining standards for project planning, reporting, deliverables management, and change control. Ensuring consistency with organizational standards and processes. - Continuous Improvement
: Improving the reporting requirements from the organization into industry-wide programmes, ensuring timely and accurate data. - Information Management
: Ensuring data quality and consistency, championing the iPMO data repository and maintaining master copies of programme deliverables. - Change Control
: Ensuring changes to deliverables, quality criteria, and timelines are appropriately managed, following Programme Change Control standards. - Dependency Management
: Developing and maintaining the Portfolio Dependency Log to manage project/programme dependencies across the portfolio. - Stakeholder Management
: Building strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders, providing coaching and training on processes, methods, and tools. - Process Development
: Helping develop and improve Programme Planning Standards, Workstream plans, Deliverables Tracker, and Project Initiation Documents (PIDs) to ensure effective management of the portfolio.
About You
The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of project management, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment. The candidate will be proactive, enjoy working with data, and be comfortable navigating complex reporting and governance structures.
You will:
- Have experience working in a PMO or project management office in a similar role.
- Be familiar with project management methodologies and tools, with an understanding of change and dependency management.
- Have strong attention to detail and experience with data tracking, reporting, and creating process efficiencies.
- Be able to engage with stakeholders at various levels, building strong relationships and maintaining clear communication.
- Be experienced in quality control and reporting, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Be adaptable and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
- Have experience with programme planning and development of tracking tools and templates.
