Trainee Water Treatment Technician

Job Description:

M&S Water Services limited is a long standing Water Treatment Company with over 35 years experience in the water industry. With coverage throughout the whole of the UK and locally based service personnel, M&S Water Services specialise in services, products and solutions covering all aspects of water treatment including steam boilers, evaporative cooling systems, closed systems, Legionella control, management and prevention, wastewater etc. Due to our successful and continuous growth we are seeking a Trainee Water Treatment Technician to join and assist our busy, friendly and professional service team.

Initially the role of Trainee Water Treatment Technician will involve assisting existing field staff on various works. This will predominantly include water hygiene and legionella control tasks, pre-commission cleaning and chlorination works, cleaning and disinfection of Cold water storage tanks and evaporative cooling systems, testing closed water systems and collecting samples for analysis. The Trainee will initially work with experienced service engineers and technicians to learn and understand all aspects of industrial and domestic water systems. The successful candidate will be provided with on the job training in a wide range water treatment activities as well as attending training courses to achieve formal and technical qualifications. Health and Safety training will also be provided. With further training, knowledge and experienced gained a pathway for career progression will allow the candidate to advance within a successful water treatment company. A company vehicle will be provided as well as opportunities to make additional income through overtime and commission incentives.

Duties include

• Assisting existing field personnel on various works.
• Collecting Samples for Laboratory Analysis.
• Carrying out Water Hygiene and Legionella Control Tasks.
• Clean and Disinfection of Domestic Water Systems and Evaporative Cooling Systems
• Pre-commission Flushing, Cleaning and Disinfection Works.
• Carrying out on site analytical testing of Industrial Water Systems.

Required Skills:

• Must hold a full UK Driving Licence and be comfortable with driving distances to various job locations.
• Good Communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal are essential. Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers in all levels of management.
• Computer literate with good grasp of Microsoft Suite applications.
• Good time management, planning and organisational skills.
• Willing to travel if required with occasional overnight stays required.
• Reliable and Good Team Member
• Willing to work overtime and occasional weekends
• be capable of physical work, lifting, carrying and climbing
• Ability to work independently or as a team member depending on the task at hand.
• Ability to prioritise tasks based on importance and urgency.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £24,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
