Job overviewFollowing a program of corporate redesign the clinical bed management service are recruiting an experienced, dynamic, Clinical Bed Manager.
Working at band 7 within the central bed management team, the role will be responsible for managing the patient journey within acute inpatient areas of mental health across Norfolk and Suffolk.
Main duties of the jobResponsible for the day to day management of patient access and flow throughout the acute inpatient wards, the clinical bed manager will work collaboratively with colleagues to coordinate patient flow across the organisation.
The successful candidate will be clinically credible and work across localities within both Norfolk and Suffolk.
Working collaboratively to prioritise access and discharge in accordance with national standards, the clinical bed manager will develop sustainable working relationships with locality teams consistently balancing, clinical risk with acuity within clinical areas to maintain patient safety.

Essential criteria
- Registered Mental Health Nurse or equivalent Mental Health professional qualification.
- Evidence of post qualification study and personal development.
- Mentorship Qualification.
Essential criteria
- An appropriate level of post qualified experience to post graduate level
- Experience of Crisis and Risk Management.
- Experience of providing professional leadership within clinical services.
- MDT working.
- Experience of variety of clinical areas, e.g. inpatient and/or community teams, Older people, CAMHS, working age adults.
Essential criteria
- Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act.
- Working knowledge of policies that affect practice and ensure that these are adhered to in the sphere of responsibility.
- Knowledge of data systems and IT.
