Salary: £55,000 per year
Contract: Permanent, 41 weeks per year
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Location: Remote with regular travel to campuses (Stafford, Cheshire, Huddersfield)

About the Role
Woodlands College is seeking an experienced and values led Head of College to lead our post 16 SEND provision for learners aged 16–25. This role is ideal for a strong leader who is passionate about inclusive education, high quality teaching and learning, and supporting young people to thrive.
You will provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple college locations, ensuring excellent student progress, strong safeguarding practice and an outstanding learner experience. You will also oversee quality assurance, staff development, MIS accuracy, EHCP delivery and compliance with OFSTED and Local Authority requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support Campus Leads and teaching teams to deliver high quality study programmes.
- Oversee college safeguarding as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (Level 3 training provided).
- Drive quality assurance, including curriculum consistency and teaching and learning improvements.
- Lead on EHCP processes, SEND interventions and liaison with Local Authorities.
- Manage day to day college operations, performance management and team development.
- Ensure accurate use of MIS systems and student record keeping.
- Build strong partnerships with families, external agencies and the local green sector community.
- Prepare the college for OFSTED and LA audits.
- Travel to campuses dependent upon the needs of the college
About You
Essential experience and skills:
- Leadership and management experience (qualification or equivalent experience).
- Strong SEND knowledge and experience supporting learners with diverse needs.
- Experience delivering or supporting innovative teaching and learning approaches.
- Team management experience and ability to drive performance and quality.
- Experience delivering EHCP outcomes and working with external agencies.
- Confident using MIS systems.
- Excellent decision making, prioritisation and people skills.
Desirable:
- Teaching qualification (QTS or Level 3 Teaching & Learning).
- Experience delivering neurodiversity or SEND training.
- Experience in post 16 education or similar settings.
