Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Supervisor to oversee daily operations at our car breakers yard in Smethwick. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing teams, ensuring safety standards are met, and maintaining project timelines. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong leadership skills and technical knowledge in mechanical and construction disciplines to contribute to high-quality project delivery.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of site personnel to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to project plans
  • Oversee the use of hand tools, power tools, and electrical equipment to facilitate the tasks
  • Conduct routine inspections of equipment and structures, identifying maintenance needs or repair requirements
  • Lead equipment repair activities, ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained
  • Manage heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate lifting gear and techniques
  • Provide excellent customer service by liaising with clients or contractors on-site and addressing any concerns promptly
  • Enforce health and safety regulations across the site, promoting a safe working environment for all personnel

Skills

  • Mechanical knowledge with experience is not mandatory but a big benefit
  • Use of hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment is not mandatory but a big benefit
  • Ability to learn and get the required qualifications
  • Experience with site maintenance activities and troubleshooting mechanical issues
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members
  • Physical capability for heavy lifting tasks and working in physically demanding environments are not mandatory but a big benefit
  • Organised leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
