Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff to deliver excellent service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and eager to contribute to a high-standard culinary setting. Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory, as full training will be provided.

Duties

  • Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to ensure hygiene standards are met
  • Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
  • Maintaining cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas
  • Supporting the organisation of kitchen supplies and stock management
  • Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures
  • Ensuring all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times
  • Supporting chefs with additional tasks as required during busy service periods

Experience

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential
  • Familiarity with food preparation and kitchen operations will be beneficial
  • Experience in serving or culinary roles can be advantageous
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills are highly valued
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are important for maintaining cleanliness standards
