Sheridan Maine is excited to be supporting a highly respected and growing business as they continue to scale, they are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to join the leadership team.

This is a key role within the finance function, a mix of strategic partnership and hands-on delivery, and an exceptional opportunity for someone looking to progress toward Finance Director level.

This role will be based in their Poole based office 5 days a week.

About the Role

Working closely with the Finance Director, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day finance operation and play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy. From ensuring accurate reporting and compliance to driving continuous improvement and supporting growth initiatives, this is a role where you'll see the tangible impact of your work.

Your remit will span:

  • Leading, mentoring and developing a small but capable finance team.
  • Delivering timely and accurate management reporting and performance analysis.
  • Overseeing financial controls, audit, tax and statutory reporting.
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting cycle and providing strategic insight to the leadership team.
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders across the business to inform commercial decisions.
  • Driving process and systems improvements to enhance efficiency and control.
  • Working alongside Treasury and other teams on cashflow management and funding requirements.
  • Acting as a key deputy to the Finance Director, gaining exposure to investor relations and strategic projects.

What You'll Bring

We're looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a proven background in financial leadership. You'll combine strong technical skills with commercial acumen and have a natural ability to communicate complex information with clarity and confidence.

You'll thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting where you can be both strategic and hands-on and you'll bring the ambition and leadership qualities to grow with the business, and ultimately take that next step towards Finance Director level.
