MERITUS are working with an innovative Systems Integration Consultancy looking for an
Operational Technology (OT) Support Engineer to join on client site at Heysham Power Station.

If successful you'll play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the cyber security posture of critical infrastructure systems. You will be responsible for supporting in-service management of OT environments, ensuring compliance with national and industry-specific standards, and contributing to the ongoing digital transformation of key energy and manufacturing assets.

This position is ideal for individuals passionate about cyber security in industrial contexts, offering opportunities for professional development and hands-on technical engagement in one of the UK's most important sectors.

The client require candidates to be eligible for SC Clearance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site support for OT and Plant Computing Systems (PCS), ensuring cyber security compliance and operational integrity.
  • Administer configuration control, malware protection, and backup management while maintaining risk registers and system documentation.
  • Participate in cyber incident response, governance reporting, and awareness training to uphold safety and compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with system engineers to implement secure configurations and maintain resilience across critical digital assets.

Required Skills:

  • Degree or HND in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with ICS, SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial protocols such as Modbus or OPC.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles, industrial DMZ architecture, and standards like IEC 62443 or NIST CSF.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts clearly.
