Trading Boundaries is currently looking for a reliable, organised & friendly Commis Chef to join our growing kitchen team.

  • Regular kitchen shifts operating between 9am – 5pm or 2pm pm over a 5 day working week from Wednesday - Sunday
  • Catering for award-winning Concert Events for up to 150 dining guests on Friday & Saturdays throughout the Autumn & Winter providing overtime opportunities for evening shifts if wanted. Wedding Catering and overtime opportunities in the Summer.

You will be confident and keen to learn under our fantastic head and sous chefs, have an understanding of food hygiene, EHO guidelines and basic procedures; as well as be willing to undertake training and take responsibility for independant food preparation.

Initially you will be supporting our sous chef in preparing a seasonal menu to our existing customers and hotel guests from Wednesday - Sunday.

Responsibilities:

- Assist the sous chef and other kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking

- Ensure that food is prepared and presented according to the restaurant's standards

- Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen area

- Follow all health and safety regulations

- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient food production

- Help with inventory management and stock rotation

- Be willing to learn and take on new challenges

Requirements:

- Previous experience working in a restaurant or culinary environment

- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment

- Great teamwork and communication skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

- Passion for food , seasonal ingredients, and an eye for detail

Experience is preferred however the right attitude and mentality is more important to us as a company than work experience. We are an independant and family-run company with a thriving concert and events schedule throughout the year and there is also scope to express yourself by creating regular specials with our Sous chef using ingredients from our weekly events and restaurant menus as well as working with our front of house team to deliver spectacular seasonal cocktails. Drivers license or personal transport is a must due to our rural location near Haywards Heath

The ideal candidate will be organised, creative and friendly to work with.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £ £15 per hour depending on experience
