Siemens Mobility Limited are looking for an intern to spend 12 months with us on our Intern Development Programmed (IDP). This programme is designed to give you a solid foundation to help you with your degree and future career. At our Siemens Mobility Components facility in Goole, this role supports the teams responsible for overhauling a diverse range of components including gearboxes, motors, fans, and HVAC systems that are critical to the Rail industry.

As a Process Optimization Intern, you will collaborate closely with on-site engineers to apply process mapping techniques, support design and analysis activities, and assist with data collection. You will also contribute to the implementation of process improvements that enhance departmental efficiency and drive innovation. The role ensures that products and solutions are assembled safely, cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards, meeting both customer requirements and industry regulations.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Enhance existing production processes to support product development and ongoing maintenance.
  • Continuously engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the rollout and integration of new product processes into production.
  • Drive timely and efficient project delivery through close collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with services delivery and the production teams.
  • Develop and manage team resource schedules to monitor utilization and collaborate with management to optimize efficiency.

Essential Skills And Attributes
We are seeking innovative and inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following;

  • Achieved or be on track to achieve a 2:2 or above in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or other engineering-based subjects.
  • Logical thinking, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change
  • Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
