Mobile Service Technician – Walsall Wood Tyre & Service
Location: Field based across assigned territory
Reports to: Mobile Operations Lead
Role purpose
To deliver safe, compliant, high-quality vehicle servicing and minor repair work at customer locations, fleet sites and during emergency call outs, acting as a professional ambassador for the brand at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Mobile servicing and repairs
- Carry out fleet and retail servicing on site, on driveways and at agreed locations.
- Tyre fitting, puncture repairs and wheel related work where safe to do so.
- Brakes, batteries, filters, fluids and scheduled service items.
- Minor mechanical repairs suitable for mobile resolution.
- Emergency call outs and roadside assistance within defined scope.
Customer and fleet liaison
- Liaise directly with customers, fleet managers and site contacts on arrival and completion.
- Explain work required, authorise additional work through approved channels.
- Provide clear job updates, ETAs and completion summaries.
Vehicle, tools and stock management
- Maintain the mobile service van to a clean, organised, audit ready standard.
- Manage onboard stock levels, tyres, parts and consumables.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks, tool inspections and calibration logs.
Diagnostics and reporting
- Use approved diagnostic equipment for fault finding within mobile scope.
- Complete digital job cards, images and reports accurately and on time.
- Flag safety critical defects, further work and workshop referrals.
Health, safety and compliance
- Work safely in varied environments including public spaces and customer premises.
- Follow all risk assessments, method statements and lone working procedures.
- Ensure all work complies with manufacturer, DVSA and company standards.
Brand and professionalism
- Present a professional appearance and uphold hospitality led service values.
- Represent the business as a trusted on site technician, not just a fitter.

- Environmental awareness: Spill control, waste handling and site cleanliness.
- Upsell with integrity: Not attempting to sell anything that's not required.
- Training and progression: In House Training Programme and External Providers in place.
Skills and Experience
- Qualified vehicle technician or equivalent proven experience.
- Strong tyre, servicing and brake knowledge.
- Confident working independently in the field.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Customer facing experience essential.
Measures of Success
- First-time fix rate.
- Jobs completed per day versus plan.
- Customer satisfaction and fleet feedback.
- Compliance, paperwork and audit scores.
- Van condition, stock accuracy and zero safety incidents.
