This role combines traditional sub-editing with innovative use of AI tools, designed to significantly enhance the quality, efficiency, and breadth of our editorial output.
You'll be working with our research team on text they provide, as well as from scratch on their policy research, to produce precise, engaging, and impartially-framed invitations for keynote speakers and senior delegates, who include leading policymakers, regulators, and stakeholders across multiple sectors.
About Westminster Forum Projects
Westminster Forum Projects is a market leader in organising senior-level seminars and conferences on public policy affecting the media, telecoms, education, health, energy, transport, environment, local and regional government, devolved administrations, the legal and business sectors, and many others.
Our conferences enjoy significant support and active participation from legislators and government, industry leaders, regulators, interest groups, advisory, academia and those with lived experience. Our brand is built upon impartiality, fairness, accuracy, and intelligent engagement.
The Role:
- Using your skills, supported by AI, to transform raw research into targeted, high-quality written communications.
- Sub-editing and refining researcher-produced and AI-generated drafts for accuracy, clarity, coherence, and alignment with our distinctive impartial tone.
- Producing tailored invitations that clearly articulate the purpose, significance, and scope of each conference to senior speakers and delegates.
- Updating and checking research accuracy in fast-moving policy areas using your own informed judgment, combined with AI tools.
- Ensuring content consistently maintains impartiality, correctly conveys stakeholder perspectives, and reflects our professional standards.
- Customising speaker invitations sensitively, highlighting the specific benefits of participation, including opportunities for thought leadership and advocacy.
About You:
- A highly literate, intelligent, technically adept, sub-editor with interest and awareness of current events - ideally experienced in news, policy, or public affairs environments.
- Skilled at combining precision, diplomacy, and creativity in editorial work.
- Enthusiastic about leveraging AI technology to enhance your editorial capabilities and productivity.
- Competent at fact-checking, swiftly updating, and editing research outputs, particularly in fast-moving policy areas.
- Diplomatic, perceptive, and skilled in presenting complex, contentious issues engagingly but with neutrality.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office and AI applications; experience with additional software and interest in further developing skills such as web copywriting and design would be an advantage.
- Capable of managing high volumes of work efficiently, responsively, and cooperatively as part of a dedicated editorial team.
This is an exciting full-time permanent position (Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm) in a dynamic and respected organisation. The role is fully remote but involves a high degree of co-production and close collaboration with colleagues. Excellent scope for growth and career development.
