Role Description

We are now looking for a motivated Accounts Assistant to join our growing team in Dundee. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in bookkeeping, VAT, and month-end reporting while working alongside qualified accountants.

Key Responsibilities


• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records using Xero and Briefcase software


• Support with month-end reporting and preparation of client accounts


• Assist with VAT returns, payroll processing, and management reporting


• Reconcile bank accounts and financial transactions


• Perform general finance administration and client communication


• Work closely with qualified accountants to support the preparation of year-end accounts

Qualifications

You'll be detail-oriented, organised, and eager to develop your career in accounting and business advisory.

Essential skills and attributes:
Previous experience or strong interest in bookkeeping or accounting - Familiarity with Xero (training provided if needed) - Confident using Excel and digital accounting tools - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy - Strong communication and organisational skills

Desirable: - Studying towards AAT or other accounting qualification (or willing to start) - Previous experience with Briefcase or similar bookkeeping software
