About the Role
We are looking for an experienced NVQ Assessor to join our team. You'll assess learners working towards NVQs in Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Management, and Construction Supervision (Levels 2–6).
This is an office-based role at our Abercynon headquarters. The ideal candidate will have strong industry experience, a good understanding of qualification standards, and the ability to ensure that all evidence meets awarding body requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess NVQ learners from Level 2 to Level 6 across relevant occupational areas.
- Support and guide learners through their qualification journey.
- Review and validate learner evidence to ensure it meets qualification standards.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with awarding body and internal verification processes.
- Provide constructive feedback and ensure timely progress of learner portfolios.
- Stay up to date with qualification frameworks, standards, and best practices.
- Assist with assessing and invigilating other training courses
- Assist with course paperwork and IQA work as required
- Any other work related to qualifications as required
What We're Looking For
- Relevant industry experience in Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Management, or Construction.
- A recognised Assessor Qualification (TAQA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of NVQ assessment processes and standards.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and IT skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a small, supportive team.
Desirable (not essential)
- Level 6 qualification in Health & Safety (e.g., NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6, or equivalent).
- Experience with awarding bodies or training providers.
- Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) qualification or willingness to work towards one.
