About us

Avencia are partnered with a leading insurer who are looking to recruit an Underwriting Support Assistant in their Leeds office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established team with a strong reputation, dealing with a wide variety of care policies.

The team offer hybrid working, currently going into the office three days a week and working from home two days.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and maintain high-standard technical underwriting support to the renewals team
  • Accurate, timely data input into relevant underwriting systems
  • Liaise with brokers as required
  • Build and maintain relationships within the team and wider business
  • Request, review survey reports and issue risk requirements to brokers
  • Manage diary items and chase responses
  • Follow up renewal information with brokers via phone and email
  • Handle enquiries (internal and external) via email and telephone
  • Assist with ad hoc projects across the team and business

Skills & experience

  • Have good written and spoken communication skills
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Be computer literate and have the ability to develop a full understanding and capability of using our in-house and systems
  • Have good numerical and analytical ability and have achieved grade A-C in Maths GCSE or equivalent preferably
  • Be willing to study for CII qualifications – you will be supported and fully funded in the study for this qualification by the company
