  • Design and deliver engaging, project-based lessons that encourage problem-solving, technical skill development, and creativity.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to shape and refine a dynamic and relevant curriculum aligned with industry trends and student interests.

  • Ensure a strong focus on health and safety in the workshop environment, while modelling correct use of machinery, tools, and materials.

  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic growth and skill mastery.

  • Support enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities such as STEM clubs, design competitions, and practical workshops.

  • Contribute to the development of the department and potentially mentor less experienced colleagues or lead subject-specific initiatives.

About the School

Our school in Staffordshire is proud of its inclusive and high-achieving environment, where students are encouraged to think critically, create confidently, and take pride in their practical work. The Design & Technology Department is a cornerstone of our broader curriculum, offering a vibrant learning experience that prepares students for further education and careers in design, engineering, and manufacturing.
