We have exciting opportunities for Band 7 MSK Physiotherapists to join the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland First Contact Practitioner (FCP) Service on a fixed term contract for 12 months located within the Rutland Health Primary Care Network.
We are looking for individuals who have a minimum of five years MSK experience and who are passionate about delivering exceptional quality of care enabling patients presenting in Primary Care to access expert assessment and management of MSK conditions. FCP accreditation or evidence of relevant training in this field is desirable but not essential. You need to have excellent communication and organisational skills within this fast paced environment and be enthusiastic in promoting the profession within the multi-disciplinary team.
The FCP team are excited to welcome new staff and can provide a supportive environment to help you to develop new clinical and leadership skills. You will be offered regular managerial and clinical supervision and will have access to peer support and advanced practitioners as part of the wider team.
We will consider part-time and full-time hours and can discuss flexible working to support work-life balance. We are particularly interested in offering evening and Saturday clinics to improve accessibility for all patients.

Job Description Summary (Main Duties And Responsibilities)
You will work within a Primary Care setting as part of the multi-disciplinary team and within your role be the first point of contact for patients presenting with undifferentiated musculoskeletal complaints.
The main duties are as follows:-
- To provide clinical expertise and make decisions about the best course of action for patient's care (including in relation to undifferentiated conditions) in order to establish a rapid and accurate diagnosis and management plan.
- Progress and request investigations to facilitate diagnosis and choice of treatment regime, understanding the information limitations derived from these and the relative sensitivity and specificity of particular diagnostic tests such as x-rays and blood tests, and interpret and act on results to aid diagnosis and the management plans of patients.
- Deliver programmes of supported patient self-management, in ways that facilitate behavioural change, optimise individuals' physical activity, mobility, fulfilment of personal goals and independence, and that minimise the need for pharmacological interventions.
- To maintain highly developed clinical knowledge/skills in order manage patients in a GP setting with the achievement of enhanced clinical outcomes.
- To frequently support the Operational Lead in the development and provision of an effective, efficient and high quality musculoskeletal First Contact Practitioner Service.
- To work collaboratively with GP's in order to improve and deliver high standards of MSK care to the patients.
There will be opportunities to engage with continual professional development with support from the Operational Lead, senior clinical team and peers in order to develop and achieve clinical and professional objectives.
