KOOSA Kids are now recruiting for an After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant at Tolworth School, Tolworth, Surrey, KT6 7SA.
Our After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant roles are part time, term time only, Monday to Thursday from 3.00pm - 6.00pm.
The role
As an After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the After School Club Manager alongside other After School Club Childcare Playwork Assistant in the safe and organised running of the club whilst actively and enthusiastically supporting and engaging children aged 4-11.
As an integral part of the team, you will assist in the delivery of a range of playwork activities such as Arts & Crafts, Sports, Team Games and other activities. Playwork is about removing barriers to play, and enriching the play environment, whilst providing a safe and secure setting for the children in your care. Enabling each child to explore, grow and have FUN
Responsibilities
- Actively and enthusiastically assist the After School Club Manager in the safe and organised running of the After School Club at Talavera Junior School in Aldershot, Hampshire (GU11).
- Help set up, organise and deliver a range of activities daily and pro-actively encourage children to participate
- Assist in the preparation, serving and tidying away of 'snack time'
- Have awareness of, and maintain sensitivity for, any children with additional needs (Physical, Behaviour, Dietary)
- Develop strong relationships with all children at the After School Club ensuring every child has as much FUN at the club as possible
- Actively develop a thorough understanding of relevant Ofsted standards & KOOSA Kids internal policies & procedures, including safeguarding
- Ensure all activity areas are left clean and tidy at the end of each day
Skills & Experience
- You will have a passion / interest in working within a childcare, early years or playwork setting
- Have a fun and energetic nature
- Be reliable and able to effectively communicate with colleagues and children alike
- Be able to relate and engage with children aged between years
- Opportunities to gain qualifications and further growth & development, will be available for candidates who match our ambitions
- Full training and inductions will be provided to all After School Club Assistants
This role would suit somebody with experience of working in a Primary School, Pre-School or Nursery, e.g. a Teaching Assistant, Early Years Educator or Nursery Assistant, or someone looking to move into the childcare industry
Hours
Monday to Thursday from 3.00pm - 6.00pm.
