Tasks and Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver the assigned project scope and tasks by meeting\exceeding our safety, quality, On-Time-Delivery and budget requirements.
- Produce PLC software and/or visualization systems.
- Emulate the control system in a virtual environment and test PLC software.
- Interpret electrical schematics and design input information.
- Lead controls engineering activities related to project design and implementation.
- Ensure systems designed and supplied are CE Compliant to the Machinery Directive
- Produce of all associated documentation including, but not limited to, design calculations, design specifications, Method Statements and Risk Assessments, operation and maintenance manuals, and test specifications.
- Commission controls systems on site and to provide support to system commissioning activities and training for the end user.
- Maintain good relationships with all internal and external customers, through the provision of a high-quality service.
- Promote personal and business continuous improvement and development of processes to achieve improved time cost and quality or project delivery.
Qualifications & Experience:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering is desirable however those with a HNC/HND in Electrical/Mechatronics/Controls Engineering will also be considered.
- Ability to lead engineering activities autonomously on projects and provide support to other engineers in the team.
- Experience in designing controls systems in Siemens S7 or TIA Portal.
- Extensive proven hands-on experience working within an industrial automation environment.
- Advanced understanding of PLC development tools.
- Proficient with Industrial Networks such as Profinet, Profibus, ASi, EthernetIP or similar.
- Experience working with E-plan is desirable not essential.
- Good understanding of Electrical and Electronic technical manuals & drawings.
- Understanding of design requirements such as Machine Directive and its standards.
- Good understanding of distributed control systems.
- Extensive understanding of software testing and emulation.
- Full UK Driving Licence as the position will require travel up to 60% of the time to customer sites both in the UK and across EMEA.
