Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely, ensuring timely service to our clients. This role requires a professional with strong driving skills, mechanical knowledge, and excellent communication abilities. The Driver will play a vital part in maintaining the smooth operation of our logistics and delivery services, contributing to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Duties
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including flatbed lorries, for the transportation of goods.
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals.
- Load and unload cargo with care, adhering to safety protocols.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure roadworthiness.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs.
- Assist in warehouse activities as needed, including stock organisation and inventory management.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies during driving operations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial driving, including delivery driver roles.
- Valid driver's licence suitable for operating the specific vehicle type, such as a driver licence or equivalent.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks.
- Experience with flatbed transport is desirable.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with team members and clients professionally.
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding loading procedures and inventory management.
- Knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK.
