Software Engineer

Location: Hybrid – London

(Hybrid Working - We currently operate a 3 day a week on site hybrid model, our office is based in Eat Putney London)

About the Role

The Digital Workplace Experience (DWE) team crafts the internal digital tools that empower every Nandoca to learn, grow, connect, and thrive. We're looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer who's excited to learn, collaborate, and make a meaningful impact—someone who embodies our values in the way they build and the way they work with others.

Your early focus will be on helping to build and scale Nossa Casa, our brand-new Nandoca mobile and web application—plus the APIs and design system that power it.

This is a role for someone who is curious, proactive, and driven to develop their skills with the support of a warm and collaborative team.

About the Digital Workplace Experience (DWE) Team

We're a cross-functional team shaping the digital fabric of life at Nando's.

We:

●      Build beautiful, simple and inclusive digital experiences used by thousands of Nandocas

●      Create and maintain internal web and mobile apps, design systems, APIs, and platform services

●      Act as champions of engineering excellence, good design, accessibility and AI-assisted development

●      Work closely with People, Ops, Product and Design to solve real-world problems in our restaurants

What You'll Be Working On

Your first major mission:

Helping to implement Nossa Casa / Nandoca Mobile

You'll contribute to the codebase across React Native (App), React (web), APIs, and shared design systems.

Alongside the team, you'll work with:

●      / Express web API development

●      OpenAPI specification–driven development

●      Storybook design system development and component libraries

●      Figma designs → interactive UI components

●      Docker containerisation and container-based deployment

●      Terraform IaC for deploying APIs into Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

●      Claude CLI and other AI developer tooling (bonus experience)

●      Modern engineering practices, with strong mentorship and peer support

●      This is a safe space to learn. You don't need to know all of these today just bring curiosity and a hunger to grow.

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

●      3+ years continuous experience with React Native

●      2+ years continuous experience with React

●      Comfortable collaborating with designers, PMs, and engineers

●      A proactive, curious engineer who takes pride in quality

●      Someone who brings passion and positivity to their craft

●      A team player who supports others and fosters family spirit

●      High integrity, empathy, and respect for diverse perspectives

●      A willingness to experiment, learn, and have fun doing it
 

Nice to Have (or Willing to Learn)

●      / Express API development

●      OpenAPI-driven design

●      Storybook + Figma pipelines

●      Docker

●      Terraform

●      Deploying APIs to GCP

●      Claude CLI workflows (Atlassian, Figma, Storybook, Context7)

●      AI-assisted workflows and spec-driven development
