The Opportunity

We're working with a
national building services consultancy
that's recently opened a
new Birmingham office
as part of their next phase of expansion across the UK.

Originally founded in the North of England, the business has grown steadily over the years and built an excellent reputation for technical excellence, practical M&E design, and long-term client partnerships across commercial, healthcare, education, and residential sectors.

This is a unique opportunity to join them at an early stage of their Birmingham journey. The consultancy has ambitious plans to grow this office to around 30 staff by the end of 2026 – and they're focused on doing it
organically
, bringing in only the best engineers and leaders to shape the culture from day one.

They're now looking to appoint an
Associate Electrical Director
who can play a key role in leading technical delivery, developing client relationships, and building the local Electrical team.

The Role

You'll take responsibility for electrical design delivery across a broad range of building services projects, providing both technical direction and strategic leadership as the Birmingham office grows.

This position offers significant autonomy and influence. You'll have the opportunity to:


• Lead and deliver electrical design from concept to completion


• Mentor engineers and contribute to recruitment and team development


• Build and manage client relationships across multiple sectors


• Drive design quality, innovation, and sustainability


• Work closely with the national leadership team to shape the office's future


• Influence the type of projects delivered and the direction of the business locally

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical knowledge with commercial awareness and leadership ability.

You'll ideally bring:


• Extensive experience in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment


• Chartered or working towards CEng with CIBSE / IET


• A proven track record of delivering complex projects across sectors


• The confidence to represent the business externally and lead client conversations


• The ambition to progress quickly to
Director level
within a growing consultancy
