People Consulting is a growing part of KPMG's Advisory practice. We support clients to transform, from large-scale complex technology programmes to smaller-scale projects, across all areas of the employee lifecycle. We are involved in many pioneer projects, for example; development programmes at scale, or supporting the creation of new regulatory bodies. And we improve the performance of organisations by changing the way people are led, managed and developed. We work across multiple sectors, including health, local and central government. Our purpose is to lead transformation for and with people, to make a positive impact for clients and citizens.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager to join our People Consulting team. This role is pivotal in leading and delivering organisation change projects. This would primarily be implementation of complex transformation, and may also be in workforce strategies, plans, learning and development and other areas. We have a focus on transforming HR departments and this role would need to have a specialism in HR.
The successful candidate will blend strong consulting capabilities with practical organisation transformation expertise, driving impactful outcomes for clients while contributing to the growth and diversity of our team. We are looking for someone with a passion to deliver excellence, with prior experience of working in the public sector.
Experience and Background
Essential Requirements:
- Extensive experience in organisational transformation, change management, or organisational development within consulting or industry.
- Proven ability to manage complex client projects, including oversight of financials, risk, and resources.
- Demonstrated business development and client relationship management skills.
- Strong record of delivering complex, client-facing projects across multiple sectors, including the public sector.
- Advanced consulting skills in stakeholder engagement, project management, and solution design.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with influence at all organisational levels.
- In-depth knowledge of HR functions such as talent management, workforce planning, and technology implementation; experience with AI in HR is advantageous.
- Commitment to inclusion, diversity, and developing others.
- Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ability to thrive—and support teams to thrive—in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating initiative in ambiguous or fluid situations.
- Proven experience leading programmes and large-scale transformation projects.
- Relevant qualifications such as Occupational Psychology, CIPD, or MBA.
- Desirable: Accreditation in psychometric assessment tools and/or recognised project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2).
- Ability to obtain or hold Security Clearance.
