Level 2 Teaching Assistant

About The Role
As a full-time Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support to students across a range of subjects. You will help create a nurturing, engaging, and structured learning environment that encourages growth, curiosity, and confidence.

Your role will involve supporting classroom activities, delivering small-group interventions, and assisting students who may need additional help to access the curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students' learning in the classroom, guiding them through tasks and promoting understanding.
  • Deliver targeted one-to-one or small-group interventions to help close learning gaps and support student progress.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials, enrichment resources, and classroom organisation.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and help maintain a calm, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Build strong relationships with students to support their emotional wellbeing and confidence.
  • Promote the school's ethos of personal growth, enrichment, and academic success.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and support colleagues to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Contribute to monitoring, recording, and reporting on student progress where required.

Requirements

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant Qualification (essential).
  • DBS on the Update Service is desired; however, we can support you in applying for one if needed.
  • A caring, enthusiastic, and patient nature.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A passion for supporting children's wellbeing, development, and academic growth.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to support enrichment and extracurricular opportunities.
  • Previous experience working in a secondary setting is beneficial but not essential.
