The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity for an experienced
Operations Manager
to join a growing manufacturing site with a global footprint. This is a senior leadership role with end-to-end responsibility for
operations
, including
manufacturing, planning, supply chain, warehouse & logistics, continuous improvement and facilities
.

The successful candidate will play a key role in executing an ambitious growth and capital investment plan, contributing strategically while leading operational excellence across the site.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

  • Lead all day-to-day site operations: production, planning, logistics, and maintenance.
  • Deliver on KPIs for
    On Time In Full (OTIF)
    delivery, safety, quality, and cost.
  • Drive a culture of
    Total Quality
    ,
    Continuous Improvement
    , and
    Lean Manufacturing
    .

Planning & ERP

  • Oversee ERP planning, material purchasing, and inventory accuracy.
  • Optimise use of ERP/MRP systems and drive inventory control improvements.

Continuous Improvement & Cost Reduction

  • Champion lean tools and CI methodologies (5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping).
  • Reduce production costs, increase productivity and support layout optimisation.

Manufacturing Engineering & CAPEX

  • Work with Engineering on product launches and technical manufacturing.
  • Manage capital projects, automation initiatives, and facilities development.

Logistics & Warehousing

  • Oversee goods-in/out, dispatch and transport networks.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and intercompany suppliers to meet output targets.

Culture & Leadership

  • Be a visible leader who drives change and builds engagement at all levels.
  • Collaborate with international operations teams and contribute to group-wide initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Proven success in
    operations leadership
    within a
    manufacturing or engineering
    environment.
  • Strong SHEQ knowledge (UK H&S regulations, ISO 9001/14001).
  • Track record of delivering measurable CI initiatives and productivity gains.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and drive performance.
  • Confident with ERP/MRP systems, KPIs, cost management, and data-driven decision-making.

Desirable:

  • Background in
    rubber/plastics
    ,
    metal forming
    ,
    tooling
    or
    component assembly
    .
  • Knowledge of
    international logistics
    , customs, and export controls.
  • Formal training in safety management.

Education:

  • Degree or HND in Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, or equivalent professional experience.
