Job Purpose
Working in the workshop, maintaining the flow of stocked and delivered inventory by pulling material from bins, loading material onto delivery vehicles, placing new material arrivals into bins, scanning or entering the data into the inventory database.
Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive).
- Unload material, tools, and equipment from vendor deliveries; inspecting material to MRC Global quality requirements;
- Transfer materials, tools, and equipment to the appropriate shelf, bin, rack, or pipe bundles by a predetermined sequence, including bind location, size, type, style, and length;
- Accurately mark materials with the correct identifying information;
- Assemble customer orders from stock and package orders to customer specifications;
- Pull orders for delivery and stock-to-stock transfer; load onto the appropriate delivery vehicle or transfer to packing area using a forklift;
- Operate a 7.5-tonne lorry periodically, for customer site deliveries;
- Comply with required safety policies, guidelines and training;
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness in compliance with governmental health and safety regulations and MRC/customer safety policies;
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned;
- Ensure the safety and health of yourself and others; report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately.
Education, Experience & Ability Requirements
Any combination of requirements, which provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities, will be considered.
- High school education
- Basic knowledge of governmental health and safety requirements
- Basic knowledge of computer systems is an advantage but not essential as training on our internal ERP system will be provided
- Ability to learn and follow MRC Global health and safety policies and procedures
- Ability to learn MRC Global warehouse operations and business processes
- Basic maths skills
- Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others, understand and interpret safety instructions, and to respond to inquiries;
- Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines and expectations, to include Code of Ethics and Conflict of Interest policies
- Forklift license (desirable)
- License to drive a 7.5 tonne Lorry
- CPC qualification is advantageous but not essential as training will be provided
