Child Support Worker Team lead
In this vital role, you will be responsible for delivering safe, stable, and nurturing environments for those in care. You'll lead staff teams, ensure full safeguarding compliance, and work closely with multi-agency professionals to support positive, lasting outcomes.
Our mission is simple: to safeguard, support, and empower young people to thrive.
We work within a Trauma-Informed and Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) framework, creating safe, stable, and nurturing environments that help young people feel valued and understood - even during times of crisis or transition.
We are seeking experienced, flexible, and emotionally resilient professionals to join us as Children's Residential Support Workers, with added responsibilities around team leadership and package coordination depending on your experience and skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting Up a New Package
- Prepare the home environment, including risk assessments, equipment setup, food supplies, and creating a welcoming space.
- Review referral documents and complete care planning within 7 days.
- Meet and welcome the young person, introduce staff, explain house rules, and complete induction paperwork.
- Lead team meetings and provide regular staff supervision.
- Monitor daily notes, incident reports, and care records, taking prompt action when needed.
- Act as the main point of contact for social workers, police, and external agencies.
- Attend and contribute to professional meetings (e.g. MDTs, LADO, strategy meetings).
- Ensure adherence to budgets, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety standards.
- Providing day-to-day care and supervision for children and young people
- Ensuring safeguarding is upheld at all times
- Establishing emotional engagement and building trusting relationships
- Support smooth transitions for young people moving on from care.
- Complete property checks, return equipment, and finalise all required documentation.
- Provide detailed final reports and liaise with the placements team.
- Strong leadership and team management experience in children's residential care or a similar safeguarding-focused setting.
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding procedures, care planning, and risk management.
- Ability to make confident safeguarding decisions and work effectively with multi-agency professionals.
- Excellent organisational skills with a strong eye for detail and quality reporting.
- Flexible, resilient, and committed to achieving the highest standards of care.
- 5 days on-site, 60 hours a week (with at least one of those days being a weekend every other weekend.)
Benefits
- Base Salary: £68,640 per year (paid monthly in arrears)
- Bonus: Up to £750 monthly (performance-based; paid in arrears)
- On-Target Earnings (OTE): £77,640
- Annual Leave: 22 days + all Bank Holidays (pro rata)
This is a rewarding and dynamic role where you will directly influence the quality of care and outcomes for children and young people. You'll have the autonomy to manage your care packages while being fully supported by experienced senior management and a dedicated placements team.
If you're ready to take the next step in your career and lead with impact, we'd love to hear from you.
