HR Director
Your Main Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and leadership team on people-related strategies that drive operational efficiency, growth, and transformation.
- Oversee HR operations for approximately 570 employees across the UK and Ireland.
- Develop and execute a people strategy aligned with the business vision, strategy, and objectives to deepen a high-performance culture.
- Steward organisational design to enable effective decision-making, focus on core priorities, and ensure agility, scalability, and alignment with strategic goals.
- Formulate systems and strategies that advance the organisation towards its mission and goals.
- Partner with senior leaders to design effective organisational structures.
- Build a culture centred on collaboration, performance, and continuous development.
HR Cycle
- Lead all core HR activities across the employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, employee relations, engagement, performance management, capability development, and payroll.
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are up-to-date, legally compliant, and consistently applied across the company.
- Monitor and report on key HR metrics, such as headcount, turnover, absence, and employee engagement.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with UK employment law, right-to-work requirements, GDPR, and health & safety regulations.
- Standardise policies, contracts, and HR processes across all brands.
Talent, Training & Engagement
- Improve hiring quality and consistency across all divisions.
- Develop onboarding, training, and leadership development frameworks.
- Drive retention through enhanced communication, clarity, and engagement initiatives.
Performance, Reward & Development
- Create and manage performance review cycles and progression pathways.
- Assess and benchmark salary, benefits, and bonus structures across the group.
- Support succession planning and leadership capability development.
What You Bring
Experience & Qualifications
- 8-10 years demonstrable HR leadership experience is desirable.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CIPD).
- Previous experience within a similar sector/environment is ideal.
Legal & Compliance Knowledge
- Strong understanding of UK and Ireland employment law.
- In-depth knowledge of compensation structures, organisational design, and HR compliance.
Strategic & Operational Skills
- Demonstrable ability to lead HR strategy while effectively managing day-to-day operations.
- Ability to work under pressure while balancing the needs of the organisation and the people agenda.
- Positive attitude towards developing policies, processes, and procedures. Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills.
- Demonstrable analytical skills and conceptual thinking to drive impact.
- Problem-solving skills, including conflict resolution and mediation.
Interpersonal & Communication Skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to operate at both strategic and tactical levels.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead by example.
- Relationship-building skills (internal and external).
- Empathetic approach.
Organisational & Technical Skills
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills; ability to multi-task.
- Strong IT skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Essential) and SAP (Essential).
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office, SAP).
- Excellent numeracy skills.
- Self-motivated.
