What you'll do

As a Finance Analyst - Property, you will play a pivotal role in providing analytical support to the Property Finance Manager and Property Acquisition Teams, focusing on supermarket and convenience stores. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day running of Investment Appraisals, supporting in the annual Post Investment Review process, updating investment appraisal models, and producing financial information for periodic reporting. You will need to demonstrate a solid understanding of Investment Appraisal methodology, produce financial information in a clear and concise manner, work efficiently to meet deadlines, and uphold Sainsbury's goals and values. Additionally, your advanced Excel skills and progress towards or qualification in CIMA, ACA, or ACCA will be essential in carrying out your responsibilities effectively.

Who you are

You are a detail-oriented and analytically minded professional with a solid understanding of investment appraisal methodology and financial analysis. With your ability to produce clear and concise financial information, as well as work efficiently within tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy, you play a crucial role in supporting the Property Acquisition Teams in delivering the company's strategic objectives through the acquisition of new space. Your commitment to living the Sainsbury's goals and values, coupled with your core understanding of accounting principles and advanced Excel skills, sets the foundation for your success in providing valuable analysis and support to drive incremental sales and profit growth.

Essential Criteria

  • Actively studying or fully qualified in a recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA)
  • Demonstrable understanding of Investment Appraisal methodology, with the ability to clearly explain concepts to non-finance stakeholders is desirable
  • Proven ability to produce and present financial information in a clear and concise format, both verbally and through visual presentations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools
  • Evidence of working accurately under pressure, delivering error-free outputs within tight deadlines.
