Pension Schemes Consultant (Hybrid)

This well-established consulting firm is looking to bring in a Pensions Schemes Consultant to join their growing team on a flexible hybrid basis. The position suites either a newly qualified actuary or an experienced part-qualified actuary (3-4+ years) who is ready to step into a client-led advisory role and broaden their consulting exposure. Opportunities are available across multiple UK locations, including London, Bristol, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow.

This Consultancy delivers clear, practical guidance to trustees and employers across investment strategy and various other areas within the business, offering a broad mix of actuarial consulting, investment advice and high value project work.

Defined Benefit pensions experience is essential in this role.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you'll blend your deep technical actuarial work with meaningful client interaction and wider consulting responsibilities. You'll take the lead on complex member calculations, support major components of actuarial valuations, and play a key role in reviewing high-impact deliverables. Partnering closely with Client Account Managers, you'll help shape tailored client advice, contribute to meetings, and steadily build your own relationship-management experience. Alongside this, you'll support a diverse mix of projects, including corporate advisory assignments—while handling day-to-day technical queries and ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently, and to an exceptional standard.

Requirements

  • FIA/FAA qualified, or part-qualified with strong and ongoing exam progress.
  • Strong DB pensions experience.
  • Good IT and presentation skills.
  • Strong communication and analytical ability.
