Community Nurse Band 5

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our care team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to residents in our care home, ensuring their health, comfort, and dignity at all times. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to supporting older people, including those with complex care needs.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, implement, and monitor residents' care plans to ensure all needs are met in line with quality standards and regulations
- Deliver clinical care, including medication administration, treatments, wound care, and palliative support
- Supervise and support care staff in providing safe, person-centred care
- Monitor residents' health and promptly escalate concerns to the Home Manager or multidisciplinary team
- Conduct risk and quality assessments to maintain compliance with regulatory and organisational standards
- Participate in recruitment, supervision, and professional development of care staff to build a skilled and motivated team
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant records in line with policies and legislation
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, and external professionals, ensuring any issues are addressed and resolved appropriately
- Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive care environment that promotes residents' independence and well-being
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (Part 1 NMC Pin required)
- Proven experience in a clinical role, preferably within residential or elderly care
- Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation
- Excellent communication, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and night shifts
- If English is not the first language, successful completion of IELTS (7.0 in all four areas)
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience supervising or mentoring care staff
- NVQ Assessor (D32/D33) qualification
- Familiarity with electronic care systems and data interpretation
- Knowledge and experience in dementia care or other specialist elderly care areas
