As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Quality Engineer who is passionate about manufacturing quality and eager to progress into a Quality Manager role over time.
The Role
As a Quality Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring our products meet customer specifications and industry standards. Working closely with production, engineering, and management teams, you will help drive quality improvements and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain the ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 management systems.
- Conduct internal audits and assist with external customer and certification audits.
- Manage non-conformances, corrective actions, and root cause analysis.
- Develop inspection and test procedures for cable assemblies and harnesses.
- Support first article inspections (FAI) and customer documentation requirements.
- Analyse quality data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards and best practices.
- Work collaboratively with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
Desirable:
- Experience within cable assembly, wiring harness, or similar manufacturing environment.
- Experience with IPC/WHMA-A-620 or similar industry standards.
- Previous involvement in environmental or health & safety systems.
- Ambition to progress to Quality Manager within 2–3 years.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Good understanding of ISO 9001 quality systems (ISO 14001 knowledge advantageous).
- Proven experience in inspection, and process improvement. Auditing.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Competence in reading engineering drawings and using measurement tools.
